#Todays3 23.8.17 Israel, Venezuela, Whiskey

#Todays3 is our collection of material that we think should be highlighted and discussed more. Whether it is science, politics, history, religion or anything else for that matter. It might not always be current, but it is always relevant. We don’t endorse any of these articles and their sole purpose is to create debate.

-1) This stood out. I saw this on Facebook the other day thinking it was fresh news, but the story goes back to 2015. It is interesting none-the-less. It is rare for one country to issue arrest warrants for the head of another country but that’s what Spain did back in 2015. A judge ordered that Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials should be arrested if they set foot on Spanish soil. This goes back to the “Freedom Flotilla” in which Israeli forces killed ten activists in 2010 and one Israeli commando was injured. The Independent has the story;

-2) What is going on in Venezuela? In recent weeks, President Nicolás Maduro has strengthened his position of power, but the conditions of the current crisis go back years and mismanagement of the economy has a lot to do with it. Al Jazeera takes in depth look;

-3) It turns out that a little bit of water is the best way to drink whiskey. IFL Science tells us that mixing water with peat whiskey enhances the flavour. Something to tell your friends next time you are getting drunk;
