#Todays3 26.8.17 Russia, China/India, Video Manipulation

#Todays3 is our collection of material that we think should be highlighted and discussed more. Whether it is science, politics, history, religion or anything else for that matter. It might not always be current, but it is always relevant. We don’t endorse any of these articles and their sole purpose is to create debate.

-1) Is Russia on the rise again? This article suggests a Soviet type coalition of nations. While it is unlikely that Communism will be the glue that holds it together, a Eurasian alliance under Russian direction would be of interest, not least to those watching in Washington;

-2) Speaking of Eurasia, the Chinese are trying to rebuild the Silk Road which saw them as a dominant power in the region. This involves building or improving infrastructure in its sphere of influence. Now, India is competing against this by carrying out their own similar projects. This is the new Cold War;

-3) You should never trust your eyes. Technology has made it very easy to make real life duplications of public figures. These images can be then manipulated to act in a certain way and it is very difficult for the audience to tell if this is real or not. Now, this technology has been adapted to audio, which is probably more dangerous;
