YouTube suffered an outage last week which lasted over an hour. This caused serious disruption, not least to the businesses that depend on it for marketing and sales, including its YouTube TV and YouTube Music services.
The company is now offering “a week” of free service to those impacted. $10 of free credit will be available but only after participants fill out the forms emailed to their accounts and do so before the Wednesday deadline.
Although outages are rare by the Google owned company, it is the second such incident this year after a similar outage during the World Cup this summer. Have YouTube changed algorithims that will make this more common?
